HOW DO I MAKE A RESERVATION?

To reserve an apartment in La Gabbia del Grillo, you must follow 3 simple steps: - Step 1: on the main page as well as at the top of each page there is a search engine. Enter the arrival date, the departure date and the number of guests. All our available apartments for that period will appear. Choose the apartment you like the most and click “Book Now”. The minimum stay in our apartments is 3 days, but this may vary depending on the period of the year. - Step 2: fill in the form with your personal data and select “Next”. - Step 3: the system will ask you to prepay the amount that corresponds to the selected rate. This prepayment is necessary to confirm the final reservation of the apartment.

HOW DO I PAY FOR A RESERVATION?

In reservations with flexible rates, 50% of the amount is charged at the time of confirmation. To make the payment of the remaining 50%, you have the following options: - Advance Online Payment: through our 100% secure platform. - Payment upon arrival in cash: in the days prior to your arrival, you will receive an e-mail with the details to come and make the payment at our office located in the same building. We will proceed to retain the amount to be paid on your credit card as a guarantee method. When you formalize the payment, we will proceed to refund the pre-authorized amount. Please have the exact amount ready, since our staff does not have change.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO BE ABLE TO BOOK?

The minimum age to be able to book is 25 years old, with the exception of those under 25 years of age who come as a family or on a business trip.

CAN I VISIT THE APARTMENT BEFORE I BOOK IT?

DO CHILDREN PAY?

In La Gabbia del Grillo, children under 2 years old do not pay and children from 2 years old pay as an adult. Please, at the time of booking, let us know if you are coming with child(ren) under 2 years old. Each apartment has a baby chair and folding cot free of charge. If you are coming with babies, please notify us in advance so that we can leave the chairs and cots in your apartment.

WILL SOMEONE FROM THE AGENCY COME AT THE TIME OF LEAVING THE APARTMENT (CHECK-OUT)?

HOW ARE THE APARTMENTS EQUIPPED?

The apartments include towels, sheets, blankets, toiletries, kitchen, washing/dryer machine, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, microwave, fridge, freezer, cutlery, plates and cups, kitchen utensils, cleaning detergents, Smart TV with Internet connection and free WiFi connection. In short, everything essential to enjoy your stay. You will spend 3 days with us but you could stay to live forever. Look at the apartments section to see what each specific accommodation includes.

IS THERE INTERNET IN THE APARTMENT?

All our apartments have free high-speed Wi-Fi.

HOW CAN I GET THE KEYS TO THE APARTMENT?

We will meet you at the apartment and hand over the keys personally, except if you arrive after 7pm. If you plan to arrive after this time, please let us know in advance and we will send you an email with the instructions for self-check-in. You can enter autonomy using a security code that will allow you to get your keys and we will meet in person the next morning to help you with everything you need. It is important that you notify us in advance of your arrival time so that we can organize your welcome. Please let us know in case of delays to avoid unnecessary waiting times.

WHAT TIME DO I HAVE TO LEAVE THE APARTMENT?

The departure time is at 10am. A later departure is possible with additional cost according to availability. Contact our staff to request more information.

CAN I STORE MY LUGGAGE?

Yes, you can store your luggage for free in our warehouse, but remember to close everything tightly and not to leave valuables in your luggage, we decline all responsibility for damage or theft.

WE TRAVEL WITH CHILDREN. CAN YOU PROVIDE US WITH A CRADLE, A HIGH CHAIR AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC ITEMS?

Of course! We make every effort to make our youngest guests feel comfortable. Please specify your needs before booking and we will try to help you to the best of our ability.

Payments

List of frequently asked questions about payments

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS?

The total amount of the reservation includes VAT, initial cleaning and final cleaning. For reservations of more than 7 days, the weekly cleaning is also included. Additional cleaning will be done on request and have an additional cost. The change of sheets and towels is done free of charge every 7 days. Additional changes will be made on request and have an additional cost. The tourist tax collected by the Florence city council is not included in the cost of the reservation and we will ask you to pay it upon arrival.

CAN I GET AN INVOICE FROM LA GABBIA DEL GRILLO?

In case you want an invoice, you must notify us as soon as you make the reservation. Send us all the billing information (company name, address, VAT, etc.). Please note that we are not allowed to invoice companies that do not have a European tax number.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I BREAK SOMETHING?

In the case of accidentally breaking something, please contact our team immediately so that we can repair it and if necessary, replace it. Depending on what was broken, we should assess its cost and retain it from your bond.

DO I HAVE TO PAY ANY BOND/DEPOSIT FOR THE APARTMENT?

A deposit of € 250 will be blocked on your credit card during your stay. After your departure and after having verified that the apartment is in good condition, we will unlock the corresponding amount. If you had paid in cash, we will transfer the amount to your bank account.

WHEN WILL THE DEPOSIT BE RETURNED?

After your departure and after having verified that you left the apartment in good condition, La Gabbia del Grillo will unblock the amount withheld as a deposit from your card. In case of having paid the deposit in cash, we will transfer the amount to your bank account. The process can take up to a maximum of 7 days; contact your bank to know the timing.

IS THE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE?

Yes! Florence in general is a very safe city and our apartments are located in one of the safest neighborhoods in Florence. You will be able to go out at night without worries and you will feel perfectly at ease.

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED HELP DURING MY STAY?

We have an office in the same building. It is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm. Outside these hours, you can use the contact numbers that you will find in the apartment to get in touch with us. Our staff is available for emergencies 24/7.

WE TRAVEL BY CAR. WHERE CAN WE PARK?

Unfortunately parking in Florence is not easy. Access by car to the historic center is only allowed to residents; others can only enter the center if they use a private garage. We have an agreement with a parking lot that is very close to our apartments. If you want to book, please let us know in advance.

ARE THE APARTMENTS SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY?

Most of our apartments are located on the ground floor and do not have stairs. We have an indoor wheelchair available and some of our apartments are wheelchair accessible even though they are not adapted. Please specify your needs before booking and we will try to find the best solution for you.

WHAT TIME CAN I CHECK-IN?

Check-in is always done by appointment, so we ask you to communicate your arrival time as soon as possible. Check-in hours are from 3pm to 7pm. If you plan to arrive earlier (before 3pm) the apartment may not be ready, but you can leave your luggage and get the keys. If you plan to arrive later (after 7pm) let us know in advance and we will send you the instructions for self-check-in; we will meet you in person the next morning to advise you on everything you need.
